Offsetting of conference-related greenhouse gas emissions

It has been calculated that greenhouse gas emissions from conference-related activities – accommodation, energy consumption, catering and printing – amount to 77 tonnes of CO2 equivalents. These will be compensated for by carbon offset projects, and the compensation costs (CHF 2905) are already included in the conference fees. Our partner for offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions is myclimate, whose carbon offset projects all meet the Gold standard criteria. These projects not only offset greenhouse gas emissions but at the same time contribute to sustainable development in the project regions concerned.
